Millie Ballance

Artist’s Bio

Camilla Ballance is a native of the U.K. now living in Vancouver. Her work is typically finely detailed, with bold colours and a twist of humour. Primarily, she is a painter, and whether it is the abundant Myrtle with her almost overwhelming bunch of flowers and a bluebird nesting in her hair, or Rest Hill with the mischievous fox leading the hounds a merry chase, Camilla's paintings are both fanciful and insightful. She has exhibited in both Europe and North America.

For her commissioned work Camilla specializes in trompe l'oeil, whether on walls, floors, ceilings or furniture. One client has a golf course in her basement, another a medieval tapestry in her kitchen, while another has a dalmation painted on her floor guarding the upstairs of the house.

Camilla studied at Heatherleys School of Art and Camberwell School of Art in London.
