Anna Clark
Artist’s
Bio
Since
completing studies at Kootenay School of the Arts, Nelson, British
Columbia in 1999, Anna has established her jewellery making studio
in nearby Rossland. Anna works full-time designing and making studio
jewellery. Her work spans limited production runs, one of a kind
works and commissioned pieces. She also finds time to continually
experiment with new materials and techniques.
Strength
of form and surface textures are the key elements in Anna's work.
She enjoys the design process, making many sketches before starting
work in the precious metal. Her inspiration often comes from patterns
and shapes in nature and she is often to be found studying the plants
in her garden.
Anna
has won many awards for her work including the Grace Cameron Rogers
Award from the Crafts Association of BC, the Steel Trophy for Best
in Show from the Metal Arts Guild of Canada and funding from the
Canada Council for the Arts. Anna exhibits regularly across Canada
and internationally and enjoys entering her work in juried shows.
