Bob Ellenton
Artist’s
Bio
Bob
grew up in southern Ontario and attended the University of Waterloo
receiving a bachelor of environmental studies in 1987. After two
years with an environmental consulting firm he moved to Vancouver,
British Columbia in 1989 to work as a freelance consultant. Some
two years later a chance collection of some re-bar, metal plate
structures and the purchase of a small torch sent him on a new path.
This initial period of metal work saw him bend re-bar into everything
from candle holders to coffee tables. After the purchase of a small
welder his pieces took on a new characteristic, one that continues
to develop today. The additions of colored glass, fabric and wood
has added depth, brightness and a playful nature to his pieces.
Ellenton
currently resides and works in Vancouver, BC and sells his work
both locally, across Canada and in the Northwestern United States.
