Leslie McGuffin
Artist’s Bio
After
a career in law publishing, Leslie enrolled in the Capilano College
IDEA Program, a three-year full-time certificate program in graphic
design and illustration. Since graduating in 2004, she has worked
as a graphic designer for UBC Public Affairs and for my own design
firm, POMPOM design in West Vancouver. I also write a weekly community
newspaper column, The Road Rules, and illustrate and paint on commission
and for juried exhibitions.
Modern
Masters Doedex are handmade and hand painted salt-dough decorations
with designs inspired by the masters of modern art. The slow-baked
forms are coated in a latex primer-sealer, painted with acrylic
paint and coated with a UV and water resistant varnish. Lightweight
and resilient, if kept dry and at room temperature, they will last
for many years.
