Artist’s Bio

Sue has been working with fabric (primarily silk) for the past eight or nine years and find it very rewarding. The luminous colours of the alcohol based dyes on silk are exciting and satisfying to her.

She was introduced to silk painting by one of her old art school friends while on a visit to England and have since become more and more fascinated with the wonderful colours and textures that can be achieved in this medium. She is interested in using the wide variety of silk fabrics available, exploring their translucency, layering and three dimensional possibilities.
