Artist’s
Bio
Kathy
came to Canada from London, England. Having completed 2 years at
Art School there, she continued studies in drawing and weaving at
UBC, Capilano College and Emily Carr College of Art & Design.
For
25 years she has been a professional weaver exhibiting across Canada
and the USA collecting many awards in the process. Her work is included
in the Massey Foundation Collections of Craft and the Jean Chalmers
Collection of Craft.
She
specializes in ikat silk scarves and shawls, hand dipping her warps
to create rich colour and painterly effects. Her customers often
hang these pieces when they are not being worn.
Kathy
lives on Salt Spring Island where she has her painting and weaving
studio and small gallery in her home.
