Sylvie Roussel
Artist’s
Bio
A
native of Montreal, Sylvie Roussel-Janssens has been living in Vancouver's
Lower Mainland since graduating from Emily Carr College of Art.
Her passion for sculpture led her to explore different materials
and techniques over the years. Sylvie chose sculptural installation
as a form of expression and favored themes related to History and
the environment.
Exploring the possibilities between art and design, Sylvie Roussel-Janssens
has now embarked in a new adventure with her light sculptures. With
the use of fabric and welded wire, magical shapes and images become
abstract pieces, masks, kinetic sculptures or an entire range of
native trees in the form of wall pieces.
Lights
up!
Artist Sylvie Roussel-Janssens' light sculptures will bring magic
to your interior.
Sylvie designs and fabricates each light sculpture. The pieces consist
of two layers of polyester fabric that are hand sewn on a welded
wire structure. Each welded wire and fabric creation is made by
hand.
