Artist’s Statement

Originally from England, Millie Ballance has been living in Canada since 1992.She studied Fine Art at Heatherly's School of Art, London, UK, and Camberwell school of Art, London, UK. Most of her work are paintings which are bold and colourfull and often inspired by myths fairy tales or dreams.

Described as archetypal, the images of animals and nature are a strong theme in her work and a source of inspiration and humour.

Her paper mache sculptures have brought some of her characters to life in 3D.

Millie's commissioned work also includes portraits, murals, ceilings, floors and furniture.
