Process Information

Since moving to the Vancouver studio, I have been working almost exclusively with a mid-range (cone 6) porcelain, fired in oxidation. Firing at cone 6 has broadened and brightened my glaze colour palette, allowing me to use colourants (such as chrome-tin pinks) which would burn out at more traditional porcelain temperatures.

My pieces are mostly thrown on the wheel, although I incorporate several hand-building techniques in my textural modifications, and sometimes I will entirely hand-build a piece.

Occasionally I use metallic lustres as decorative accents. These pieces should not be put in the microwave or dishwasher.
