Process Information

For my Jacquard tapestries I start with an idea, a drawing or a photograph of an image, scan it onto a computer and manipulate it. When I am happy with the image, I reduce colours to the number of weave structures I am going to use. By using special software I allocate each colour its own weave structure and transfer the information to a Jacquard loom. After making decisions about the weft colours I start weaving by hand.
